England have jumped up three places in the International Cricket Council's (ICC) Twenty20 International rankings following the leaderboard's latest annual update.

The sport's global governing body has published the newest table with results from the period between May 2013 and April 2014 removed from calculations for the rankings.

New Zealand remain on top with 125 points, a lead of four over England who moved up from fifth place.

Pakistan moved up one spot to third while India and South Africa take up the next two places respectively.

On December 18, 2018, the nine best ranked countries other than Australia, who are hosts, will qualify for the 2020 T20 World Cup.

The annual update has also been done in the One Day International rankings with South Africa retaining the top spot.

Australia stay in second place while India have moved above New Zealand to third in the only change to the top 10.

Qualification for the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales is on offer for the top seven sides other than the hosts, with the cut-off date coming on September 30.

The remaining two places at the tournament will be secured at an ICC Cricket World Cup Qualification competition, due to be held in Bangladesh in 2018.
