Lasse Norman Hansen and Michael Mørkøv regained the Six Day Series of Copenhagen lead on the fourth day of action in the Ballerup Super Arena.

The Danes had led for the first two days, but slipped to third yesterday as Kenny de Ketele and Moreno de Pauw of Belgium took control.

In front of a home crowd, the duo were able to reach the 200 point mark today, which saw them receive a lap and take back the lead.

De Ketele and De Pauw are 60 points behind in second place, while the Dutch team of Yoeri Havik and Wim Stroetinga lie a further two points back.

The recently crowed Berlin Six Days winners are the third and final team to be on the same number of laps as the leaders.

Havik and Stroetinga were the pairing to make the brightest start on day four, with the duo securing three wins in six sprint races.

London 2012 omnium champion Hansen would win one sprint with Morkov, while their compatriots Casper Folsach and Frederik Rodenberg also picking up a win, along with Germany’s Sebastian Wotschke and Hans Pirius.

The home crowd were able to cheer on Danish success for the remainder of the day, as the rest of the races saw local riders triumph.

Folsach and Rodenberg topped the standings in the first derny race, with Hansen and Mørkøv securing victory in the second running of the discipline.

The stars of the day would continue to be Folsach and Rodenberg, as they won both the 500 metres madison time trial and the flying lap.

Frederik Schwarz and Andreas Stokbro succeeded in the penultimate race of the day, as the Danish pair emerged as winners of the 10-lap scratch.

In the battle for the overall victory in Copenhagen, though, Hansen and Mørkøv pick up a crucial fourth place finish in the final madison to reach the 200 point mark.

The event was won by their compatriots Marc Hester and Jesper Mørkøv.

The Six Days of Copenhagen continues tomorrow.
