Their final score was 3,960 points.

FInland's trio of Kimmo Lehtonen, Jari Ratia and Niko Oksanen achieved a second-day score of 1,960 to finish in third place on 3,812 points, while Canada's Graham Fach, David Simard and Zach Wilkins scored 1,880 to place fourth with 3,759 points.

The Netherlands and Indonesia, who were in semi-final qualifying positions yesterday, dropped out of the top four after today's performances.

The semi-finals and final are due to take place on Monday (December 3).

Tomorrow's competition is scheduled to see the semi-finals and final of the singles event, as well as the start of the team-of-five event.

The last five days of competition will also be broadcast internationally due to partnerships created by World Bowling's sports consultancy Reddentes Sports.

It will be shown in countries such as China, Indonesia, Singapore, Mongolia, Thailand, Vietnam, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Canada and the United States, and also broadcast on the Olympic Channel.

"We are delighted to have our flagship event for 2018 shown across the globe, particularly in Asia, Europe and North America where bowling enjoys a strong following," World Bowling President Sheikh Talal Mohammed Al-Sabah said.

"We are encouraged by Reddentes Sport’s ability to secure these broadcast deals in order to raise bowling’s profile and grow the sport.

"We look forward to allowing our fans the ability to follow the best male bowlers in the world next week as the world champions are crowned in Hong Kong."
