Seven teams share the lead after three rounds of men's action at the World Junior Curling Championships at the Taarnby Curling Club in Copenhagen after Canada and Switzerland each suffered shock defeats this evening.

Defending champion Canada were beaten by Scotland, who stole three points in the 10th and final end to secure the 10-7 win.

Sweden won in similarly dramatic circumstances against Switzerland, the beaten finalists in last year's event in Tallinn.

A last stone draw by skip Rasmis Wraana secured a 5-4 victory.

All four sides have now won two and lost one.

Russia, United States and Turkey complete the top group.

Norway have managed just one win and both Denmark and Turkey are yet to get off the mark.

South Korea and Canada remain the only unbeaten teams on the women's side of the draw.

On a day in which just one round of games took place, 2015 winners Canada swept past Russia 10-4 in just seven ends.

South Korea were forced to endure a far tighter clash against Scotland before prevailing 6-5.

At the other end of the table, Switzerland secured a firth win courtesy of a 12-5 triumph over Sweden.

Hungary also beat the US 7-6 while Turkey required in extra end to secure a thrilling 8-7 win over Russia in a battle between two countries enduring fractious political relations in recent months.

The Championships were originally awarded to Erzurum in Turkey, but were reallocated to Denmark last month due to security fears.

Built in 1978, the Taarnby Curling Club has hosted two World Senior Championships, as well as two European Mixed and four European Junior events.
