The World Taekwondo Octagon Diamond Game, Demonstration Team Championships and Beach Championships concluded on the third day of the World Taekwondo Cultural Festival, which is being held in Gangwon and Chuncheon in South Korea.

In the Octagon Diamond Game, the men’s under-68 kilograms category final was an all South Korean affair, as Jonn hyun Yun overcame Jaehyuk Lim.

Bronze medals in the category went to Afghanistan’s Hikmatullah Zain and fellow South Korean Min yeong Lee.

The men’s over +80kg final was also a battle between two South Korean athletes, as Ryong woo Li defeated Young-seok Kim.

Bronze medals were awarded to Hamzah omar Saeed of Pakistan and Hayk Amirbekyan of Canada.

In the women's under-57kg category it was a clean sweep for Kazakhstan with Mariya Sevostyanova beating Botakoz Kapanova to gold.

The two bronze medals went to compatriots Aidana Sundetbay and Aziza Karajanova.

South Korea also took a one-two in the Demonstration Team Championships winning gold and silver in the freestyle performance discipline, with Italy and Vietnam claiming the bronze medals.

It was a busy final day of action at the Beach Championships, with medals awarded across a total of 17 categories.

Meanwhile, World Taekwondo President Chungwon Choue presented certificates to referees from four different competitions in recognition of their efforts.

Action is due to continue tomorrow with the start of the two-day World Para Taekwondo Open Challenge.
