Canada cruised past South Korea 10-0 to seal second place in the pool at the Port Arthur Stadium in Thunder Bay but, as hosts, their place in the Finals next year was already confirmed so next best side Mexico also gained qualification.

America beat Mexico 2-0 to ensure they finished the stage undefeated with five wins from five.

Alexandra Hugo scored the opener for the US in the first innings courtesy of a single to left field from Naomi Ryan.

The pair then combined once again in the third innings, this time with a Ryan double that sent Hugo to home plate to double the score.

Wing Hin Ng and Hoi Kei Chan then capitalised on two consecutive errors from the Australian defence to score.

The lead was flipped in the fifth innings when Australia scored a quick three runs before the remaining six came two periods later.

The Finals are due to take place next year in Thunder Bay, although exact dates are yet to be confirmed.
