The penultimate round of matches in the Women's Baseball World Cup Group A has been postponed due to adverse weather conditions.

Constant rain meant that none of the three scheduled fixtures were able to be played at the Port Arthur Stadium in Canada.

Organisers have decided that they will be played on Sunday (August 13) instead, with Australia to play Hong Kong, Mexico to meet the United States, and South Korea going up against Canada.

Tomorrow's games remain as scheduled, and with no rain forecast they are likely to take place.

The United States are due to meet Hong Kong first in Thunder Bay on Saturday with their sights set on securing their ticket to next year's Finals.

Despite sitting in fifth position, their opposition are still in the fight for one of the two qualification spots as they are just one win off Canada in second.

A fierce battle of the pitchers is expected with Kelsie Whitmore aiming to extend the Americans' three-game win streak while Choi Shee In is due to start on the mound for Hong Kong.

South Korea and Mexico are then due to meet in the second match of the day with the latter aiming for their third consecutive win in the competition.

It is South Korea's last chance to stay in contention for qualification as they have lost all three of their matches so far.

Australia play hosts Canada in a must-win match for both sides as both stand a chance to take second place in the standings.

The Canadians are expected to start with Allison Schroder as pitcher, while Australia are set to led from the mound by Genevieve Beacom.
