Israel downed a previously undefeated Puerto Rico 12-6 to move to the top of Pool C with one game remaining against the Czech Republic to cement their place in the playoff.

Nathaniel Solomon dominated offensively with five goals and two assists while goalkeeper Andrew Morris turned in one of the best defensive showings in San Diego.

He recorded 15 saves from 21 shots faced, to halt one of the tournament's top-five attacks.

The United States wrapped up its Pool A campaign with a 4-0 win-loss record.

The hosts picked up a commanding 18-1 win over England, sealing a spot as the first overall seed in the playoffs. 

Rob Pannell starred for the defending champions with four goals and three assists while Kieran McArdle had his second consecutive five-point haul.

Japan annihilated Denmark 23-3 in Pool B for a fourth straight win.

After the four matches, Japan has a combined scoreline of 70-6 with the best attack and defence in San Diego.

The latest win means they have earned the sixth seed in the playoffs and will take on whichever side claims the 11^th seed.

Italy finished its four-game sweep of Pool E with a convincing 15-5 win over Scotland that claimed a playoff spot.

Christian Cuccinello and John Piatelli both dominated in the win, each posting three-goal, three-assist stat lines while Jeff Trainor also added a hat-trick.

Ireland then beat Peru 14-9 to qualify for the latter stages which are set to begin on Tuesday (June 27) after tomorrow's final pool matches.
