The tournament in San Diego also saw the Netherlands, France, Germany, Hong Kong and China deliver important wins in the race to the playoff.  

The home team was engaged in an entertaining battle with Haudenosaunee, coming out on top 9-7 at the USD Torero Stadium

Kieran McArdle scored three goals and bagged two assists for the US.

The Pool F game between the Dutch and South Korea saw the Europeans win 12-3.

Jake Bowman and Alderik van der Heyde scored hat-tricks in the win with the former bagging an assist as well.

Puerto Rico came out on top against the Philippines in a Pool C encounter.

The game was up and down with both teams sharing the lead before Puerto Rico won 9-7 as Brandon Aviles delivered three goals.

Canadians also won their first game of the event in Pool A.

Curtin Dickson and Dyson Williams scored three and assisted one to help them beat Australia 10-3.

The day of many firsts also saw Mexico hammer Austria 15-5.

Marco Fung was the star of the show with nine saves from 16 shots as Hong Kong edged Scotland 9-7 to spice things up in Pool E.

Ten players scored as Japan humiliated Wales 14-1.

Shinya Tateishi was unstoppable once again, bagging three goals and assists.

France defeated Uganda 13-5 while Ireland edged Latvia 8-7 to lead Pool F.

Pool D is Jamaica's to throw away after another defensive win against Poland.

Khairi Sears was the player of the match with two goals, an assist and three caused turnovers.
