Seo Geon-woo of South Korea, Germany's Lorena Brandl, and Brazil's Maicon Siqueira won the final gold medals on offer at the World Taekwondo Grand Prix in Manchester as the event reached its conclusion.

Seo beat compatriot Hwan Nam-goong in the men's under-80-kilograms decider following a semi-final victory against Firas Katousi of Tunisia.

The loss meant that Katousi was awarded bronze which is his second medal of that colour from a Grand Prix event this year after he also achieved the feat in Paris.

Hwan defeated Italy's Simone Alessio in his semi-final after just two rounds.

In the women's over-67kg competition, Brandl downed France's Althea Laurin in the gold-medal match.

It marked Laurin's second Grand Prix silver of 2022 after also losing the final in Paris.

China's Lei Xu and Aleksandra Kowalczuk of Poland made up the podium with the bronze medals.

En route to the final, Brandl exacted revenge on Britain's continental champion Bianca Cook in what was a rematch of the European Taekwondo Championships final.

The final event in Manchester saw Britain's Caden Cunningham pitted against Siqueira in the men's over-80kg.

The crowd was firmly behind the home favourite, but it was Siqueira who clinched victory late on with a superb body kick.

Cunningham beat Olympic champion Cheick Sallah Cisse of the Ivory Coast in the semi-final while Siqueira was victorious against Emre Kutalmis Atesli of Turkey in the final four which meant the losing pair won bronze medals.
