Egyptian second seed Nouran Gohar needed four games to defeat Canada's Hollie Naughton at the Black Ball Squash Open in Cairo.

The world number two eventually prevailed after 45 minutes at the Professional Squash Association World Tour Platinum tournament at Black Ball Sporting Club.

She started strongly and then weathered a fightback from Naughton to win the second round clash 11-7, 11-9, 6-11, 11-4.

Gohar went 7-0 up in the final game and it proved to be a crucial advantage as she struggled after a collision while 6-0 in front, and hobbled off court.

"It's completely different this year, we're playing a World Series and it's straight after another World Series in Chicago, so to deal with it and recover is a little bit tough," she said.
