Patriot Boxing Team will be hoping to gain revenge when they host three-time World Series of Boxing champions Astana Arlans Kazakhstan tomorrow in St Petersburg.

It will be their second clash of the season in Group C of the competition, with the two having met last month.

On that occasion Astana Arlans Kazakhstan produced a dominant performance to beat their Russian opponents 5-0 in Kokshetau City.

The defending champions had already beaten the Indian Tigers 4-1, with the two victories putting them top of the standings.

Patriot Boxing Team triumphed by the same margin against the Tigers last week, giving them a morale boost heading into their rematch.

The hosts will hope to get off to a good start tomorrow at the Platonov Sports Palace when Pavel Gunchenko is due to take on Saken Bibossinov in the under-52 kilogram bout.

Home fighter Abubakr Aidamirov will then face the Arlans’ Serik Temirzhanov in the 60kg event, before Pavel Sosulin meets Bekozod Khalmetov in a 69kg bout.

The penultimate fight with pit the Patriot Boxing Team’s Pavel Silyagin against Shaimurat Kussainov in the 81kg division.

Proceedings will be brought to an end when Shigabudin Alivev takes on Nursultan Amanzholov in the 91kg super heavyweight event.

Victory for Astana Arlans would put them on course to win the group, while the Patriot Boxing Team could move level with their rivals should they prevail.
