The agreement between the OCA will see the continental body pay the Organising Committee $40 million (£29.60 million/€33.4 million) in order to assume full control of sponsorship and marketing rights.

They will then be able to keep all profits generated from these programme - including any excess over the $40 million.

A separate $3 million (£2.2 million/€2.5 million) fee must be paid by organisers to OCA marketing partner Dentsu in order to cover extras such as legal costs and measures to avoid ambush marketing.

The deal, signed by OCA President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah and Indonesian vice-president and chairman of the Asian Games Steering Committee Jusuf Kalla, was agreed at the OCA General Assembly in Ashgabat in Turkmenistan last month, held alongside the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.

It follows similar agreements signed before Guangzhou 2010 and Incheon 2014, the previous two editions of the Asian Games.

The OCA also announced Ssangyong had become a sponsor in the IT solutions category, while Swiss watch manufacturer Tissot has signed on in the scoring and timing category.

361 Degrees, a major Chinese supplier of shoes and sports goods, are set to supply sports uniforms after agreeing a deal with the OCA and the Organising Committee.

The announcements come after Sheikh Ahmad visited Jakarta to inspect preparations for the 2018 Asian Games.

Kuwait's Sheikh Ahmad, who is also the head of the Association of National Olympic Committees, met with Kalla to discuss several issues related to the event.

This included the sports programme, which features 40 sport and 462 events and was confirmed at the General Assembly, and venues due to be used at the Games.

Sheikh Ahmad led an OCA delegation which met Indonesian President Joko Widodo today to "appraise" him on preparations for the event.

It comes despite concerns raised by OCA honorary life vice-president Wei Jizhong at the General Assembly that some venues do not meet International Federation requirements.
