There was more home success as the World Karate Federation (WKF) Karate1 Premier League leg in Rabat wrapped up today.

This began with near-domination in the team kata competition as the Moroccan hosts overcame Italian club team Spazio Sports Forte Dei Marmi.

Morocco 'B' and local club side Ligue Orientale shared bronze. 

The host country's biggest star in world junior, cadet and under-21 champion Achraf Ouchen then impressed en-route to men's heavyweight over 84 kilograms kumite sparring gold. 

He beat Etienne Martial Nonagni Bayomog of Cameroon in the final.

Two more Moroccans - Hicham Mzara and Reda El Asmar - shared bronze.

A third home gold came in the corresponding women's heavyweight over 68kg division where Fatima Aghardi Zahrae was a dominant winner.

She beat Vera Kovaleva of Russia in the final as Cameroon's Blandine Angama Mendo and Vanesca Nortan of The Netherlands shared bronze.

France's Amin Bouazza claimed the under 84kg honours on a day of heavyweight action.

He beat Iliass Oufkir of Morocco for gold as Saudi Arabi's Saeed Qaffas and Shvan Othman of Iraq each took bronze.

Italy's Silvia Semeraro took the women's under 68kg title after victory over Chaima Midi of Algeria in the final.

Sara El Kharchi and Meryem Bouhid shared home bronze.

Austria beat Morocco to women's team kata gold, with Cameroon and a second Moroccan team placing third.

The Premier1 season is now taking a break before resuming in Istanbul on September 3 and 4.
