OCTOBER 21 - THE International Boxing Association (AIBA) has submitted a formal proposal to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to have women’s boxing included in the sports programme of the London Olympics in 2012, they announced today.

OCTOBER 29 - FRANKIE GAVIN (pictured) today launched a major boxing match between Britain and Germany in his home city of Birmingham but admitted he may have turned professional by the time it is staged in December.

OCTOBER 30 -TERRY EDWARDS (pictured), who earlier this year led Britain's most successful boxing performance at the Olympics for half-a-century, is set to quit the sport because he is not happy with the changes being made in how it is run.

AUGUST 18 - WOMEN'S boxing could be introduced at the 2012 Olympics in London after the International Boxing Association (AIBA) confirmed it would press for its introduction, as first reported on insidethegames nearly two years ago.

AUGUST 24 - IRISH boxer Kenny Egan (pictured) had to settle for silver after losing 11-7 to Xiaoping Zhang in the final of the light-heavyweight division at the Beijing Olympics.

SEPTEMBER 22 - BOXING is investigating overhauling its scoring system following the controversies at the Olympics in Beijing last month that have cast a fresh doubt over its future, the sport's head said today.

SEPTEMBER 28 - FRANKIE GAVIN (pictured), the world amateur boxing champion, has pledged to resist overtures to turn professional and target London 2012 if Terry Edwards is retained as the team's head coach.

June 15 - Boxing has rejected a proposal by London 2012 organisers to move the sport to Wembley Arena claiming it could see competitors having to endure journey times of up to three hours.
