The Pan American Taekwondo Union (PATU) will host its second Hall of Fame induction ceremony and gala dinner in Querétaro in Mexico next year, it has been announced.

PATU has confirmed that the event will be held on January 28.

It follows an inaugural ceremony which was staged in Guadalajara in Mexico in November, on the eve of the city hosting the World Championships.

Athletes, coaches, referees and national federations are all set to be honoured at the dinner.

Mexico’s Juan Diego García López and Canada’s Skylar Park were named the respective best male and female athletes in Guadalajara.

In addition, 10 inductees were announced for the PATU Hall of Fame.

Among those included were American Kyung Ho-min and Venezuelan Hung Ki-kim in recognition of a lifetime contribution to the sport.

The other inductees were Barbara Wakefield, Uwe Otterbein, Victor Estrada, Natalia Falavigna, María del Rosario Espinoza, Jay Warwick, Maria Borello Castillo and Moon Dai-won.

World Taekwondo President Chungwon Choue received the appreciation award for support to Pan American taekwondo development.
