St. Moritz in Switzerland will be welcoming Olympic and world champions as the 2023 International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) World Championships begins tomorrow.

Scheduled to be held until February 5, the event will see a debut for Para bobsleigh.

Britain's first European champion in Para Bobsleigh, Corie Mapp, will be among the names looking to be named first-ever IBSF Para bobsleigh world champion.

He will face competition from Israel Blanco of Spain, Guillermo Castillo and Robert Balk of the United States, Jonas Frei of Switzerland, and Canadian great Lonnie Bissonnette.

German Francesco Friedrich, the reigning Olympic and world champion in bobsleigh, will be a firm favourite in Switzerland.

However, his compatriot Johannes Lochner, who is currently leading the World Cup rankings, will be hoping to dethrone the champion.

Britain can be the dark horses in the four-man, with Brad Hall and team in sensational form in the World Cup circuit, including a first-ever European Championships title last weekend in Altenberg

The battle between women's reigning Olympic champions in Kaillie Humphries of the United States and Laura Nolte of Germany will be the one to look out for.

The duo are having a tight race for the World Cup trophy as well.

Skeleton also has strong German representation thanks to Christopher Grotheer and compatriot Tina Hermann.
