Norway and Poland won a gold medal each at the World Shooting Championships in Cairo today.

European Championships gold medallist Jeanette Hegg Duestad of Norway helped teammates Jenny Vatne and Katrine Lund to beat the Swiss trio of Anja Senti, Sarina Hitz and Silvia Guignard Schnyder in the 300 metres rifle three positions women's team gold medal match.

The Norwegians claimed the title with 16-12 scoreline.

The bronze medal went to Germany.

Veronique Muenster, Anna-Lena Geuther and Lisa Mueller got the better of Paula Wronska, Karolina Kowalczyk and Sylwia Bogacka Poland 17-13.

In the other final of the day, Kowalczyk teamed with Tomasz Bartnik to claim gold in the 300m rifle three positions mixed team final.

The duo humbled Finland’s Henna Viljanen and Aleksi Leppa 17-3 to win the title.

Meanwhile, Austria edged Norway to finish third.

Olivia Hofmann, who is a 2018 World Championships silver medallist helped her teammate Bernhard Pickl to bronze by defeating Katrine Lund and Kim Andre Lund 17-15.

The World Championships is scheduled to continue tomorrow.
