Occitanie was the best-performing region at the French Sambo National Championships while Montpellier Sporting Club topped the club standings.

With 123 athletes from the southernmost region, the most of any participating French area, they scored 249 points to beat Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur who scored 223 from their 94 competitors.

Île-de-France's 42 fighters scored 96 points, Hauts-de-France's 19 fighters made 51 and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes's 16 participants scored 26.

Brittany's sole fighter secured three points.

In the club standings, the 40 athletes from the Montpellier Sporting Club finished first with 92 points.

Despite having 14 less fighters, Azur Sport et Performance recorded 71 points to come second and union Sportive de Villejuif Lutte sambo made 59 points from their 24 competitors to finish third.

The tournament was held for all ages and weight categories and saw as many as 295 athletes, 218 men and 77 women, from 29 French clubs participate.
