Adidas license-holder Double D has agreed a two-year deal with the French Boxing Federation (FBF) to become its official equipment supplier, including for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The deal, which runs until the end of 2024, means the FBF will receive all of its sporting equipment from Double D.

It covers competition clothing, gloves and helmets, with French practitioners to be kitted out in Adidas apparel.

"We have made enormous progress in terms of product quality, whether in terms of the materials used but also in the technicality of the equipment," said Cedric Dermee, chief executive of Double D.

"We have, for example, created a range called Tilt.

"These gloves are slightly curved on the side which promote better wrist support.

"We even went even further by developing an eco-responsible vegetable leather glove, made from cactus.

"It will equip the French teams which will be the first in the world to use such gloves whose level of performance is equal to that of animal leather."

Clubs affiliated with the FFB will be granted a 20 per cent discount on Double D products, and a 10 per cent discount will be offered to club members.

Double D, which has held Adidas' world license for 15 years, will contribute to corporate social responsibility projects set up by the FBF either through financial means or products and services, it is claimed.

The FBF noted that it will work hard to promote Double D branding in the future, with athletes and management also required to wear Double D equipment during training, ceremonies, official receptions and other events.

Double D will also be able to stage a yearly event at FBF facilities.

Boxing remains on the programme for Paris 2024, for now, although an International Olympic Committee (IOC) Boxing Task Force oversaw the Tokyo 2020 tournament as the International Boxing Association has had its IOC recognition suspended.

Boxing is not currently on the Los Angeles 2028 programme.
