Slovakia ranked joint 24th with Belgium in the medal table for the 2016 Winter YOG in Lillehammer, winning one silver.

Ice hockey player Sebastian Čederle was the country's sole medallist following a second-place finish in the men's individual skills challenge.

In all, Slovakia had 33 competitors in seven sports.

At Innsbruck 2012, Alpine skier Petra Vlhová won the nation's solitary medal, a gold in the women's slalom, for a joint 19th-place finish with Morocco. 

Vlhová now has four World Championship medals to her name, including giant slalom gold, combined silver and slalom bronze in 2019. 

Slovakia was represented at Innsbruck 2012 by 30 athletes in five sports.
