France ranked 13th in the medal table for the 2016 Winter YOG in Lillehammer, winning two gold, one silver and three bronze.

The athletes securing top honours were biathlete Emilien Claude in the men's sprint and Manon Petit Lenoir in women's snowboard cross.

In all, France had 32 competitors in 12 sports.

At Innsbruck 2012, the country finished 11th in the medal table with two gold, two silver and five bronze. 

Alpine skiers Estelle Alphand, who now represents Sweden, and Clara Direz were the gold medallists following victories in the women's super-G and giant slalom respectively. 

Both were also bronze medallists in the parallel mixed team event, while Alphand claimed silver in the combined and giant slalom competitions.

Overall, France was represented by 29 athletes in 10 sports.
