Australia ranked 19th in the medal table for the 2016 Winter YOG in Lillehammer after winning three silver and one bronze.

Two of the country's silvers came in snowboarding thanks to runners-up finishes for Emily Arthur in the women's halfpipe and Alex Dickson in the men's snowboard cross.

The other was won by Zali Offord in women's ski cross, while fellow freestyle skier Louis Muhlen took bronze in men's ski cross.

In all, Australia had 17 competitors in eight sports.

At Innsbruck 2012, the nation won two bronze medals through ice hockey player Sharnita Crompton in the women's individual skills challenge and snowboarder Alexandra Fitch in women's slopestyle. 

It was represented by 13 athletes in eight sports.
