Sweden's Tove Alexandersson continued her superb run of form as she won the women's long distance race at the Orienteering World Cup in Østfold in Norway.

Alexandersson, who arrived at the latest stop on the World Cup circuit having claimed two gold medals at the recent World Championships, stormed to victory in a time of 1hr 04min 33sec.

She crossed the line comfortably ahead of the rest of the field, completing the 9.3 kilometres course over three minutes in front of nearest challenger Kamilla Olaussen of Norway.

Alexandersson's team-mate Karolin Ohlsson came through to take third place.

The Swedish star will be hoping to add another triumph to her belt during the pursuit race tomorrow.

Bergman finished in 1:17:36, beating Norway's Olav Lundanes by 35 seconds.

Matthias Kyburz, second to Swiss team-mate Daniel Hubmann in the race for the overall World Cup title, was third.

The event in Østfold continues tomorrow.
