Mohamed Elshorbagy came from behind to beat sibling Marwan in a tightly fought semi-final match at the Professional Squash Association (PSA) Canary Wharf Classic in London today.

World number one Mohamed was looking to extend his winning streak to 20 matches, but his older brother had other ideas at East Wintergarden.

Marwan was able to battle to the first game of the match 11-8, only for Mohamed to replicate the feat in the second to level the tie.

An enthralling third game saw Marwan edge back ahead by triumphing 13-11.

It would have been enough to win the tie in the first two rounds, where a best of three games format was being trialed.

With the semi-final and final taking place over the standard best of five format, Mohamed was able to battle back into the tie.

He was able to clinch the fourth game to take the match to a decider, which he ultimately won to seal an 8-11, 11-8, 11-13, 11-3, 11-8 win.

"I could see from the first point in the first game that he wanted to win badly today, but I had to try and fight," said Mohamed.

"There were times when he was unstoppable and I couldn’t really cope with his pace, but I had to keep digging in and hope he made a few errors and I think my experience got me through in the end.

"It's never easy to back up match after match and tournament after tournament, but if you want to be the best in the world you don’t give yourself excuses.

"You just keep pushing and pushing, that’s what all of us do and I’m glad to be in another final."

The younger Elshorbagy brother will face a compatriot in the final, after Tarek Momen came out on top in an all-Egyptian clash with Ali Farag.

Momen claimed the opening game, but second seed Farag stormed back to take a 2-1 lead.

He was unable to complete the job, as Momen battled back to earn a 11-5, 6-11, 8-11, 11-8, 11-6 victory.
