Chinese second seeds Wang Yilu and Huang Dongping were knocked out in the first round as mixed doubles action begun the Badminton World Federation Indonesia Masters today.

The Asian Championship bronze medallists were the day's major casualties as they were beaten by Malaysia's unseeded pair Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Jemie Lai.

Goh and Lai came from behind to win at the Istora Gelora Bung Karno in Indonesian capital Jakarta, coming through 12-21, 21-19, 21-19.

Indonesia's top seeds Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir experienced no such problems as they beat compatriots Riky Widianto and Masita Mahmudin.

The Olympic and world mixed doubles champions won 23-21, 21-17 to reach round two.

With England's third seeds Chris and Gabrielle Adcock withdrawing from the event, Hong Kong's fourth-ranked Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet could now be the biggest threat to a home Indonesian victory.

They proved too strong for French pairing Bastian Kersaudy and Léa Palermo today, winning 21-12, 21-19.

Main draw singles action will begin in Jakarta tomorrow following qualification rounds today.
