Turkey's Huriye Ergin starred as five more gold medals were won on day three of the World Taekwondo Cadet Championships in Sharm El-Sheikh.

She claimed a 15-4 victory over Iran's Yalda Ranjbar in the girls' under-59 kilograms class in the Egyptian city, impressing with two spinning head kicks.

Ergin only conceded one head kick in return as she won her final comfortably at the Youth and Sports Olympic Hall in the Red Sea city.

Bronze medals were won by India's Shreya Rani and Liliia Khuzina of Russia.

In the girls' under-44kg division, The Philippines claimed their first gold medal of the Championships.

It came courtesy of Mary Angeline Alcantara, a winner in the final against Russia's Oksana Smirnova.

Bronzes went to Turkey and Tunisia thanks to Tugce Cankurt and Chaima Toumi respectively.

Iran won their third gold of the week in the boys' under-45kg category with Amirarsalan Khanzadeh coming out on top.

He denied Egypt a second home gold of the event by beating Adham Hussin.

Abdulla Ghloum of United Arab Emirates won bronze alongside Thailand's Thanakrit Yodrak.

Spain and Kazakhstan also celebrated gold medals today.

The Spanish gold came after Cheyenne Brito Rico defeated America Comonfort of Mexico in the final of the girls' under-55kg.

Slovenia's Larisa Loncaric won bronze with Iran's Nazanin Tonekaboni.

Abilkhassan Bakhytzhan wrapped up the Kazakh gold in the boys' under-41kg.

He saw off Russia's Shamil Magomedov in the final as bronzes went to Denmark and Lebanon.

Milad Haidari claimed the podium spot for the Danes as Lebanon were represented by Raphael Koudsi.

The Championships, for athletes between 12 and 14, conclude tomorrow.
