Italy added two more gold medals to their International Roller Sports Federation (FIRS) Artistic Skating World Championships tally in the pairs events today.

Italians Luca Lucaroni and his partner Rebecca Tarlazzi eased to the gold medal amid total host nation dominance in the senior pairs competition in Novara.

All three medals were claimed by Italian pairs.

Lucaroni and Tarlazzi produced a stunning performance to take the title with a score of 550.900 points.

Their compatriots Marco Garelli and Sara Venerucci took silver on 533.300 while a third Italian partnership of Nicola Merlani and Alessia Gambardella claimed the bronze with a score of 479.200.

In the junior pairs event, where there were four entrants, there was further Italian success as the hosts won both the gold and the silver.

Alberto Peruch and Isabella Genchi produced an emphatic performance to win the event, earning a total score from the judges of 518.200 which left them just over 30 points clear of their closest rivals.

Trailing behind in second place was another Italian duo in Filippo Tugnoli and Alessia Barbatosta on 486.700, while Argentina's Tomas Masia and Florencia Cecconi took the bronze with a total of 421.700.

Elsewhere in today's action, the senior couple compulsory competition began with further Italian dominance ahead of tomorrow's conclusion.

Alessandro Spigai and Elena Leoni currently lead the way on 161.750 points.

Andrea Bassi and Silvia Stibilj sit in second place with 156.890 points with fellow Italians Alberto Maffei and Rachele Campagnoli rounding off the top three on 148.210.

Completing today's action was the junior couple compulsory event which, after the compulsory and style dances, is lead by Americans.

Benson Kuan and Cassandra Seidel currently lead with 148.680 points.

Unsurprisingly they are closely followed by an Italian duo with Luca Rossetti and Alessia Orsi on 144.070 points.

Portugal's José Cruz and Daniela Dias complete the top three on a score of 142.120.
