The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) has held a summer training programme for university students at its headquarters in Doha.

Held in collaboration with Qatar University, the training programme brought together 11 students with the aim of giving them information about the working environment and to develop their personal skills and experience.

The QOC’s human resources department also held an orientation meeting with the trainees, who were briefed about the course’s objectives and methods of work at the various QOC departments.

The programme came in the framework of the QOC’s strategy to support youth and education activities as well as to boost human development as a major pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV 2030).

QNV 2030 is a development plan launched in October 2008 by the General Secretariat for Development Planning in the State of Qatar.

Its aim is to "transform Qatar into an advanced society capable of achieving sustainable development" by 2030.

The plan's development goals are divided into four central pillars; economic, social, human and environmental development.

The Government is seeking to meet development goals by developing a strong bureaucratic framework and implementing strategies to address the challenges presented in human development reports.
