February 14 - London Tier One sponsor BP will tomorrow be unveiled as a new $15 million (£9.5 million) partner of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), insidethegames can reveal.


The deal with the British company, whose global headquarters are in London, is due to be officially announced at a press conference here tomorrow evening attended by Scott Blackmun, the new chief executive of the USOC, and Picabo Street, the 1998 Olympic Super-G champion.

It is understood that BP's sponsorship with the USOC will focus on environmental issues.

BP, formerly known as British Petroleum, the fourth largest company in the world, signed up in July 2008 as a leading sponsor of the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics in July 2008.

They are the main backer of the Cultural Olympiad.
