David Cameron_and_Sebastian_Coe_1_26_JulyJuly 26 - Prime Minister David Cameron has urged Britain to put its best foot forward for the London 2012 Games which begin tomorrow with the Opening Ceremony at the Olympic Stadium in Stratford.

Cameron was today led by London 2012 chairman Sebastian Coe (pictured top, Cameron in centre) on a final tour of the Olympic Park before the start of the Games.

He then stopped for a press conference outside the Olympic Stadium in which he emphasised the importance of the competition to Britain.

"Let's put our best foot forward," the Prime Minister said here.

"We're an amazing country with fantastic things to offer.

"This is a great moment for us, let's seize it.

"The worries we all have are the great hopes and fears.

"Our fingers are crossed for everything from the events to the weather to the transport infrastructure and everything else.

"But, from where I stand, I think we're set for a really remarkable few weeks for Britain."

The Prime Minister also said that London 2012 is a vital event to enhance Britain's reputation across the globe and to show that the Games is an event that should involve the whole of the United Kingdom, not just the capital.

"Of course, this is a time of some economic difficulty for the UK, everybody knows that," said Cameron.

"But look at what we're capable of achieving as a nation, even at a difficult economic time.

"In terms of the country coming together, I think the Torch Relay really demonstrates that this is not a London Games, this is not an England Games, this is a United Kingdom Games."

"I think we'll show the whole world not just that we've come together as a united kingdom, but also we're extremely good at welcoming people from across the world."
