Individual and team competition prizes, for both adults and youngsters, will also be up for grabs.

Triathlon Live is a joint initiative run by the International Triathlon Union, British Triathlon and London 2012.

Jem Lawson, chair of Triathlon England, said: "We're delighted to be bringing Triathlon Live to each of these eight locations, alongside Welsh Triathlon and Triathlon Scotland, and can't wait to see what each city has to offer – we might even inspire the next Team GB triathlete at one of our events!

"Triathlon Live is a celebration of our growing sport in an iconic year – it's important to spread the message about our great sport alongside giving people the opportunity to 'Give it a Tri' themselves."
