European_Sponsorship_AssociationApril 12 - The European Sponsorship Association (ESA) is set to hold an Insights Forum in London on May 5 which focussing on the impact of the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games on the sponsorship industry.
 

The forum will focus particularly on whether the industry will suffer a fall in demand in 2013 following the London 2012 Games, the management and motivation of workforces during and after the Games, the opportunities and perils of becoming a global agency on the back of success in 2012 and the legacy for sponsors following the Games.

The ESA Insights Forum, which is part of the European Sponsorship Association's successful Knowledge programme, also boasts an impressive line-up of experts to cover these issues.

Rob Clarke, Head of human resorces at London 2012, will share how the organisation intends to manage its own staffing before and after the Games while Marzena Bogdanowicz of b-focused has vast knowledge of the potential legacy impact of London 2012, having experienced a multitude of Olympic Games in her time at the British Olympic Association (BOA).

Amanda Fone of f1 recruitment has helped both sponsors, agencies and London 2012 recruit for the Olympic Games and has her finger on the pulse of how talent in the industry will evolve in 2012 and beyond.

Sally Hancock of Lloyds Banking Group, the first national company to sign up as a Tier One partner for the Games, will share how her organisation is managing the process of building up a talented team to deliver both the Games themselves and Lloyds's legacy contribution.

Fredda Hurwitz of Havas Sports and Entertainment has Olympic Games experience from the agency side, and is now focused on taking the experience Havas has gained to Rio 2016 and beyond.

Sarah Winckless, chair of the BOA Athletes Commission, will also be speaking and is heavily involved in preparing athletes for the Games and proactively managing the athletes' transition afterwards, many of whom will be actively looking for regular roles in the industry.

The forum will be chaired by Matt Rogan, the ESA chair of the Education group.

Rogan is a Director of Lane4, a learning and development consultancy which is involved with developing employee engagement programmes for Olympic and Paralympic Games sponsors, and is the co-author of Britain and the Olympic Games: Past Present Legacy, which looks in detail at the commercial impact of London 2012.

The ESA Forum is being held at the offices of MediaCom, 124 Theobalds Road, London WC1X 8RX.

The ESA member rate to attend is £100 ($163) and the non-member rate is £175 ($285).
