Pyeonchang_bid_sponsors_Jan_25January 30 - Two additional major sponsorship agreements have boosted Pyeongchang's campaign to host the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Hyundai Motors Group, the world's fifth largest auto maker, has presented a donation of 500 million Korean Won (£285,000/$450,000) to the Bid committee and promised its support until the host city decision is made in July.

And Jae Ho, President of the Korean Association of Newspapers (KAN) - an organisation that has 47 members comprised of daily newspapers and a news agency – has signed a sponsorship agreement with Pyeongchang 2018 Bid chairman Yang Ho Cho.

KAN will offer the Bid exposure via its member media outlets for the remainder of the campaign.

"The association is very pleased to add the support of our 47 members to help bring the 2018 Winter Games to Korea for the very first time," said Jae Ho.

"We look forward to working with the Bid committee to deliver its media content and provide the enthusiastic Korean population with important news stories about the Bid."

"Their support and the nation's passionate backing for our Bid gives us an extra boost as we prepare for the important International Olympic Committee (IOC) evaluation Commission visit to Pyeongchang next month."
