The tailored integrity education service will exclusively cater to athletes in the AIU Registered Testing Pool (RTP). It will be managed by a dedicated team of educators, including former Olympians, former support personnel, AIU staff, and seasoned sports integrity professionals.

Athletes will have the opportunity to engage in personalised 20-minute education sessions with trained AIU educators. These sessions can be conducted in a selection of 14 languages, including Amharic, Arabic, English, French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Kalenjin, Mandarin, Oromo, Portuguese, Spanish, Swahili, and Swedish.

“This is a critical initiative for athletes considering the Paris Olympics are on the horizon, as it allows them to access the information they need in the language they need and at the time they need in a unique one-one-one environment,” said AIU Head, Brett Clothier.

“Education is a key component of the AIU’s mandate. We have listened to what they athletes have asked for and developed the AIU Call Room in response to their needs.” At the same time, Dame Valerie Adams, Chair of the World Athletics Athletes' Commission, has praised the introduction of the AIU Call Room as a crucial enhancement to the support available for athletes heading to Paris.

“The introduction of the AIU Call Room is ground-breaking and truly athlete-centred as it allows the athletes to access personalised one-on-one education opportunities at their own convenience. This AIU initiative for Paris 2024 is poised to have a profound impact on our athletes,” she said.

Furthermore, AIU personnel will interact with athletes at specific Diamond League events, offering details about the Call Room. Its establishment was driven by athlete feedback gathered through focus-group discussions, online sessions, and outreach programs organised by the AIU. The inaugural Diamond League engagement occurred in Oslo Wednesday.

AIU is an independent organisation established by World Athletics to oversee all integrity matters, encompassing both doping and non-doping issues, within the realm of athletics. Its responsibilities include anti-doping efforts, investigating individuals involved in age or competition results manipulation, addressing fraudulent behavior related to transfers of allegiance, and identifying other forms of misconduct such as bribery and violations of betting regulations.

The organisation is tasked with eliminating dishonest practices from our sport and providing steadfast support to honest athletes worldwide, who strive to achieve their sporting aspirations through commitment and perseverance.
