The official app for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games went live on Wednesday, allowing ticket holders to secure their seats and resell them for any unwanted sessions, the organising committee announced.

The Paris 2024 Tickets application is the "only official and authorised resale channel: resale is completely transparent for both the seller and the buyer," the Organising Committee said in a statement. Most of the events for the 26 July-11 August Games have sold out quickly in multiple ticket sales since last year, with a total of around 8.27 million seats purchased.
However, tickets are still available for Olympic football, while most sports are still available for the Paralympics, which run from 28 August to 8 September.

The app will be "the essential tool to access your tickets for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games". On the day of the Games, only a ticket presented on the Paris 2024 Tickets app will allow access to the venues," the Organising Committee said. It will allow buyers to transfer tickets to their fellow travellers and will be used to obtain QR codes to be shown to security at venues. The QR codes "are not visible at the moment to prevent counterfeiting," Michael Aloisio, director general of the Paris organising committee, told reporters.

By launching its ticketing app well in advance of the Games, Paris 2024 wants to reassure prospective spectators that they can start making their arrangements now. Paris 2024 therefore invites all ticket purchasers to transfer their tickets to their beneficiaries now so that they can receive all the information relating to their session, which will help to ensure smooth access to the venues on the day of the Games.

The Paris 2024 tickets app has three essential functions:

  • Access all your tickets (excluding the Ceremonies; tickets for the Ceremonies - opening and closing of the Olympic Games, opening and closing of the Paralympic Games - will be available on the app from mid-June).
  • Transfer your tickets. Each beneficiary will also need to download the app and log in to collect their ticket(s).
  • Put one or more tickets back on sale

While the launch of the “Paris 2024 tickets” app marks the start of the home stretch for ticketing, ticket sales for the Olympic and Paralympic Games are continuing on the official ticketing website
