The President of the International University Sports Federation (FISU), Leonz Eder, and the Secretary General, Eric Saintrond, attended numerous meetings in the West Midlands, as Thérèse Courvoisier reports for the organisation. 

For five intense days, Birmingham was the place to be for all the major players in the world of sport. It had been a long time since SportAccord's last World Sport & Business Summit, which took place on the Gold Coast in Australia in 2019. FISU didn't miss such an opportunity to catch up with other federations. 

"The SportAccord World Sport & Business Summit is a great opportunity to meet many leaders of international sports federations and to attend informative panel discussions and presentations, said FISU President, Leonz Eder. 

"During our face-to-face meetings, we discussed many issues with representatives of sports federations and organisations, as well as exchanged ideas with service companies. I consider these meetings to be the greatest benefit of attending SportAccord, especially as FISU is one of the most important multi-sport federations," he stressed. 

One of FISU's main objectives in Birmingham was to continue to explore new options for future FISU World University Games and FISU World University Championships, as well as new projects around the Healthy Campus programme. 

"We had many interesting discussions about future projects in Sapporo, Qatar and Great Britain. We would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Ingmar De Vos of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) on his election as President of ASOIF," stressed FISU Secretary General Eric Saintrond.
