On Thursday 14 March, the Poomsae athletes opened the competition with a display of grace and precision. The cadet, junior and senior categories faced each other from 8:00 am, kicking off a series of competitions that would keep the public in suspense throughout the weekend. 

The president of the Pan American Taekwondo Union, Juan Manuel López, expressed his satisfaction with the success of the event: "We are happy to see how the President's Cup continues to grow every year. The participation of 33 countries is a testament to the growing interest and passion for this sport in our region."

On Friday 15 March, the focus shifted to sparring, with the senior athletes demonstrating their skill and determination on the tatami. On Saturday 16th March 16, the Cadet, Infantil, Junior and TK3 categories kept up the intensity of the competition, culminating in an exciting finale on Sunday 17 March with the "Festival of Colour Belts".

Classified as a G-2 tournament, it was not only a showcase for talent, but also had important implications for the future of the competitors. "The President's Cup not only provides a top-class sporting spectacle, but also awards world ranking points and provides quotas for the first places in the senior divisions," explained López. 

The importance of the event was also reflected in the opportunities it offered for future championships. The first and second place finishers in the cadet and junior divisions were awarded places at the Pan American Championships, which will be held in Querétaro, Mexico, in July 2024. This reinforces the importance of the President's Cup on the international taekwondo circuit.
