Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation at the ACAPS Conference in Paris

Representatives of the Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation, Ms. Hanan Al Mahmoud, Deputy Director of the Foundation, praised the participation of the Foundation's delegation in the 20th International Conference of the Association of Researchers in Physical Activities and Sports (ACAPS), held recently in Paris. 

The conference was attended by more than 500 experts and researchers from around the world, including the Foundation's delegation, marking the first time a UAE organisation has participated in this international forum for sport and fitness research.

Ms. Al Mahmoud explained that the participation and the research topics discussed will have a positive impact on the Foundation's approach and its goals for the near future.

She stressed that the delegation's presence at the conference was in line with the Foundation's strategy to provide its members with the best scientific, technical, and business experience. 

The aim is to develop a promising generation equipped with a comprehensive knowledge of sport and to contribute to the formation of sports leaders and qualified technical and management teams capable of achieving excellence at global level.

While attending the conference in Paris, the Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation delegation visited the National Institute of Sports, Expertise and Performance (INSEP) to explore the medical complex and scientific research laboratories.

The aim was to use and share knowledge. The delegation also visited all the facilities, including the training and rehabilitation departments, as well as the laboratory and the scientific research department.

Dr. Almoutasr Sharara, head of the Foundation's delegation, said that during the visit, they met with students, graduates, and conference participants. All expressed their admiration for the Foundation's delegation, which included Maryam Al-Shahhi and Aisha Abu Al-Zoud.

Dr. Sharara added that he presented a study on 'The relationship between asymmetry and change of direction speed in elite and sub-elite fencers'. Maryam Al-Shahhi, a physiology specialist, presented a study on 'Standard anthropometric measurements and physical fitness scores in female students in Sharjah.' Aisha Abu Al-Zoud, a physiotherapy specialist at the Foundation, presented a study on 'The relationship between balance during archery and upper limb strength in female archers'.

In conclusion, all members of the Foundation's delegation expressed their great satisfaction with their participation in the Paris Conference and the significant positive impact it will have on future activities in the coming period.
