China claimed a one-two in the men’s and women’s individual finals at the latest International Gymnastics Federation Trampoline World Cup at Varna in Bulgaria.

In the men’s event, gold went to Yan Langyu, who recorded a strong time of flight as he topped the standings at the Palace of Culture and Sports with 61.640 points.

Yan’s compatriot Wang Zisai took the silver medal with a score of 61.310, with the podium completed by Ryusei Nishioka of Japan, who scored 60.040.

In the women’s event, reigning Olympic champion Xueying Zhu secured first place in the 2023 world rankings after topping the standings with 56.630.

Her compatriot Yicheng Hu took silver with 56.590, with the podium completed by Hikaru Mori of Japan, whose routine had the highest difficulty score, but finished with a total of 55.760 due to a lower execution score.

In the men’s synchronised trampoline competition, gold went to Canadian duo Remi Aubin and Keegan Soehn who finished with a total of 51.950.

A high synchronisation score of 19.50 proved the difference for Aubin and Soehn.

Silver went to Portuguese pairing Lucas Santos and Gabriel Albuquerque with 49.600, while bronze went to Germans Fabian Vogel and Caio Lauxtermann with a total of 49.190.

The women’s synchronised gold went to British duo Bryony Page, a double Olympic medallist, and Isabelle Songhurst, who finished with a total of 48.800.

Page and Songhurst’s victory acts as perfect preparation for a home World Championships, due to take place at Birmingham in England in November.

Silver went to United States duo Nicole Ahsinger and Cheyenne Sarah Webster, who secured top spot in the world rankings after placing second with a score of 48.460.

Georgian duo Anano Apakidze and Mariam Ragimovi completed the podium with a total of 47.900.
