The American dazzled in Antwerp as she topped the standings on three apparatus on her way to a sixth all-around world title.

In the same city where she won her first World Championship golds ten years ago, Biles finished with a score of 58.399 points at the Antwerp Sportpaleis as she won a 34th world and Olympic medal - a total higher than any other gymnast, either male or female.

She recorded the best score on the vault of 15.100, the top score on the balance beam of 14.433 and the highest score on the floor of 14.533 on her way to victory.

The silver medal went to Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade with a total of 56.766, with the reigning Olympic vault champion second on that apparatus with 14.700 and second on the vault with 14.066.

The podium was completed by Shilese Jones of the United States with 56.332, with her highest placing coming as she finished second on the balance beam with 14.066.

Fourth place went to China’s Qiyuan Qiu with 54.799, including a second place on the uneven bars with a score of 14.700.

The top five was completed by Alice D’Amato of Italy with 54.265, including a third on the uneven bars with 14.666.

Biles earned the top score on three apparatus with the exception of the uneven bars, with Algeria’s Kaylia Nemour, who finished eighth overall, recording the best total of 15.200 there.

Biles helped the US to team gold earlier in the Championships and has a chance to add to her roll of honour as she is scheduled to compete in four individual apparatus finals over the next two days.

Tomorrow’s first day of apparatus finals is due to feature the men’s floor, pommel horse and rings, and the women’s vault and uneven bars, with Biles due to compete in both of these.
