China Post has unveiled the designs commemorative stamps it has issued to mark the re-arranged Asian Games, which are due to start in Hangzhou next month.

China's national post office has also produced commemorative post cards to mark the Asian Para Games.

The two stamps feature the emblem and mascots of the events and also include the Chinese characters "润泽" which translate as "meeting the world".

The stamps have been created using a high-line intaglio printing process with multi colour over printing to enhance the colour saturation.

The design depicts the shape of "Three Pools Mirroring the Moon", meant to symbolise the famous West Lake in Hangzhou.

To guard against counterfeiting, the stamps also use fluorescent ink anti-counterfeiting technology,

When viewed under ultra violet light, a watermark reveals local landmarks.

The commemorative post card for the Asian Para Games depicts the emblem of Hangzhou 2022 and its mascot "Feifei", surrounded by a silhouette of Hangzhou.

The stamps are due to go on sale on September 23, the day the Asian Games are scheduled to open a year later than planned due to being postponed as China's strict COVID-19 protocols.

The Games are scheduled to conclude on October 8 and will be followed by the Asian Para Games between October 22 and 28.

When similar stamps went on sale for last year's Winter Olympics in Beijing, most stocks were exhausted within a few hours.
