Tokyo 2020 Olympic champions the United States have clinched their second International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3x3 Women's Series title of the season after triumphing in Katowice.

The Americans pipped Lithuania to the gold medal with a thrilling 20-17 win in the decider.

Linnae Harper starred with a brilliant all-round performance that saw her amass 10 points and four rebounds, with three on defence, for a game-high player value score of 9.1.

The 28-year-old also helped the US win World Cup gold in Vienna earlier this year.

She made the final American basket to take the score to 20-17 before Lithuania's nine-time rebounder Kamilė Nacickaitė scored from beyond the arc.

However, with 16 seconds to go they could not find two more scores and were subjected to their second final defeat of the year.

Cierra Burdick amassed five points, six rebounds, and three highlights in the final before she was named as the tournament's most valuable player.

The US' previous win came in Pristina but they still only sit in sixth place in the Tour standings.

Leading side China have 910 points with six legs remaining.

They finished third in the Polish city in what was their worst finish in four events.

China were awarded the bronze medal as they edged fellow semi-final losers Gyor of Hungary by an average point total of 16.3 to 14.0.

The Tour is set to return in just three days with the Melilla stop scheduled for Friday and Saturday (August 18-19) in Spain.
