Her header from close range broke the deadlock after 15 minutes before she set up Kenza Dali and Eugénie Le Sommer in the first half.

Sakina Karchaoui did well to find Diani for the opener after a good run from the left wing.

After scoring one, Diani cut back from the right side for Dali to slot home France's second.

Some fantastic pressing from the midfielder troubled Morocco again, with an attempted clearance finding Le Sommer, who made no mistake.

The Lyon striker got one more in the second half when she headed in from a Vicki Becho cross to seal the victory.

They will face co-hosts Australia for a place in the semi-final.

"Yes, it is a certain pressure [to play the hosts], but it must also be taken as a positive pressure," Le Sommer said after the game.

"It's always better to have the audience with you than against you.

"For them, it's a pressure, but at the same time, a whole country [is] behind them.

"It will be a challenge for us."

One goal was enough for the Colombians to register their first knockout game win at the Women's World Cup.

It was a dull affair in the first half as Jamaica chose to sit back.

However, all that changed when Ana María Guzmán and captain Catalina Usme combined for a moment of magic.

A long ball from Guzmán was brought down elegantly by Usme before executing a superb finish to give the South Americans the lead.

While the game opened up after that, the score remained 1-0 in Colombia’s favour at full time.

They will be up against European champions England in the next round.

The FIFA Women's World Cup is set to continue on Friday (August 11) with Spain facing the Netherland and Japan up against Sweden in the quarter-finals.
