The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) has revealed they are hoping to to add "more interesting exercises" in rhythmic gymnastics.

"Our main reflections are on how we can take the athletes' health into account while still keeping the discipline attractive," FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics Technical Committee President Noha Abou Shabana said.

"We are also looking to incorporate more interesting exercises."

The first meeting of the Committee in 2023 outlined plans to help enhance the features of the sport.

The Committee also decided to add to the instructional sessions published on the FIG's educational channel.

"We are planning some artistry webinars to be held by two different choreographers in order to help coaches and gymnasts to work on their artistry," Shabana said.

The Committee has finalised a list of judges for the first rhythmic gymnastics World Cup event of the year, scheduled to begin in Athens on March 17.

Meanwhile, preparations continued for the second Junior World Championships which are set for Cluj, Romania in July.

These will include the return of ropes for the group exercises.

The Committee also began work on the draft code of points to be implemented in the sport for the next Olympic cycle from 2025 to 2028.
