Fiechter is through to the last eight of a Professional Squash Association Platinum event for the first time after a straight-games win at the University of Hull.

The world number 10 triumphed 12-10, 11-7, 11-9 over Egypt's Elaraby.

Fiechter is one of two Americans through to the women's quarter-finals, after third seed Amanda Sobhy also enjoyed a straight-games victory.

Sobhy saw off England's Jasmine Hutton 11-9, 11-7, 11-8.

"It's such an exciting time to be a part of Team USA, we have a lot of players playing amazing squash," Fiechter said.

"We had four players in the last 16 across both men’s and women’s and Amanda and I have been playing the entire week leading up to this."

There were also straight-games wins for Nouran Gohar and Nour El Tayeb - both Egyptian - who knocked out American Sabrina Sobhy and Belgium's Nele Gilis, respectively.
