After two silver medals at Beijing 2022, China's Mao Zhongwu managed to get the better of his compatriot Zheng Peng, who had beaten him twice, in the men's sitting race over 10km.

Yang's countrywoman Ma Jing then clocked in 1:49.6 after the winner to seal bronze and her first Paralympic medal.

Masters interrupted what was almost a Chinese podium sweep as she relegated Li Panpan and Shan Yilin to fourth and fifth place.

The cross-country events will reach their finale tomorrow with the mixed and open 2.5km relays at 10am and 12pm, respectively.
