Ukrainians Illia Kovtun and Daniela Batrona triumphed in their events at the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Apparatus World Cup in Cottbus.

Kovtun, an all-around bronze medallist at last year's World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, triumphed in the men's parallel bars at the Lausitz Arena.

He performed the most difficult routine of the field of eight, scoring 6.3, with an execution mark of 8.666 helping him to finish with a winning total of 14.966.

Australia's Mitchell Morgans was second with 14.733, with American Brody Malone third through his total of 14.466.

Malone came out on top in the men's horizontal bar competition after scoring 6.3 for difficulty and 8.400 for execution for a total of 14.700.

Olympic silver medallist Tin Srbić of Croatia was second with 14.333, while Israel's Alexander Myakinin took bronze with 14.100.

Batrona was the other Ukrainian winner in Cottbus, impressing with a 5.5 for difficulty and 7.700 for execution in the women's balance beam to score 13.200.

Lucie Trnková of Czech Republic earned silver with 12.766, while a 12.666 from Belarus' Anastasiya Smantsar helped her to bronze.

Spain's Alba Petisco won gold in the women's floor event after posting 12.900, beating the 12.400 from Smantsar and 12.133 from Tisha Volleman of The Netherlands.

Armenia's Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist Artur Davtyan was the day's other winner, averaging 14.983 from his two attempts of 15.100 and 14.866 in the men's vault.

Ukraine's Nazar Chepurnyi placed second with 14.600, while Adem Asil of Turkey was third with 14.583.

Doha is set to stage the next FIG Apparatus World Cup from Wednesday (March 2) to Saturday (March 5).
