The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has launched an online sticker album in a bid to engage its social-media audience with the top athletes going for gold at this year’s Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.

Fans will have the chance to vote for two athletes per sport each week until July 31 across the IPC’s social media channels.

The male and female athletes with the most votes will then be featured in the "#ParalympicAlbum".

The virtual sticker book was launched on May 17 as part of the IPC’s "Sport Week" series.

Each week, the IPC plans to produce content across its digital channels to engage and educate its audience about the 22 sports on the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic programme.

Para archery and Para athletics got Sport Week up and running with videos, facts and athlete features published on the IPC’s platforms.

Matt Stutzman of the United States and China’s Zhou Jiamin became the first entries into the #ParalympicAlbum following the Para archery vote.

Cuban sprinter Omara Durand and German long jumper Markus Rehm racked up the most Para athletics votes to secure their spots in the album.

Badminton, which will make its Paralympic debut at Tokyo 2020, and boccia are set to be put to a public vote this week.

The format is due to continue until the end of July, wrapping up with wheelchair rugby and wheelchair tennis.
