Jon_Montgomery_on_bob_skeletonNovember 6 - How does Olympic gold medallist Jon Montgomery (pictured) find a new thrill when his day job is hurtling down a mountain at speeds of up to 135 kilometres per hour while lying on his stomach?

Well, after reaching the top of the podium at Vancouver 2010, the charismatic skeleton champion has now enlisted three of his closest friends for an athlete's ultimate road trip.

Premiering on Saturday, November 27, on the Discovery Channel, BEST. TRIP. EVER. follows the adrenaline-seeking crew of four – which includes Montgomery's fiancée and teammate Darla Deschamps, his best friend and conditioning coach Kelly Forbes, plus his friend and skeleton teammate Sarah Reid – as they drive across British Columbia in a four-by-four vehicle engaging in a little friendly competition.

Tackling extreme sports from kite surfing and slack-lining to heli-biking and Vancouver's gruelling Grouse Grind, the foursome is attempting most of the activities for the first time.

With bragging rights - and besting their own personal gold standards - on the line, the competition is fierce.

"I've never had so much fun being humbled in my life," said Montgomery.

"I needed a compass and some waterproof matches because I was living so far outside my comfort zone I felt like a fish out of water.

"It was a great opportunity to be a part of an awesome adventure and one that my friends and I will remember for the rest of our lives."
